Hybrid organic/inorganic memory elements for integration of electronic and photonic circuitry

The aim of the project was to realize new hybrid inorganic/organic devices as system comprising inorganic metal nanoparticles embedded in matrices of organic semiconductors as well as to realize and determine the processes connected with non-volatile hybrid memory device that can be addressed electrically and optically.

The main task of UL team was to synthesize monodisperse metallic nanoparticles as colloids and to functionalize their surface according to the requirements of the device production technology. Another task of UL team was to prepare inks and solutions with nanoparticles for production of the memory elements using Ink-Jet printing technology and spin coating/dip-coating method, respectively. The research was also focused on the development of procedures for nanoparticles deposition on the hybrid memory elements, including the organic semiconductors, without affecting its structure and electrical properties.
